Every USI book goes through six steps: brief, character design, sketches and storyboard approval, line art, color, then cover, layout and print files. Below, you can follow one real book, Fern Greene's The Magic Lovey, through each step.

You share the manuscript, the page breakdown, references and your style wishes. If you are not sure about the style yet, start with a free colored sample.

We sketch every page and lay the pages out as a storyboard, with room for the text. Authors approve the full storyboard before final art.
